Break of Day

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"There is a moment at daybreak when the world seems to awaken all at once.

In Break of Day, life is moving both above and beneath the surface. The dolphins travel together through the water while one breaks through into the morning light. Below them, the ocean is already alive with movement.

I wanted the surface to become more than a dividing line. It is the place where two worlds meet—water and air, darkness and light, what we can see and what remains hidden below.

Break of Day is about that first moment of possibility, when a new day begins, yes, is already in motion, and where two very important worlds meet."
